Don't Trust The Midas Touch by Tmaneea Don't Trust The Midas Touch by Tmaneea
My entry for :iconoc-challenge:'s "Mythology" Challenge.

Here we have my OCs, Charlie, playing the role of King Midas, and Patty, playing the role of Midas' daughter, whatever her name is (Honestly, I can't find it). Midas has been given a gift, that whatever he touches turns to gold. It isn't long before Midas realizes that his gift is actually a curse, and in this scene, actually turns his daughter into stone.

As an extra bonus, there's Apollo, the Sun God, pulling the sun across the sky. Although you can't see him real well, he's played by another of my OCs, Henry.

I really enjoyed trying to recreate the texture of gold. I hope I got it right.

I think he named his daughter Marigold.Yes he was that obsessed.
A nice take on the myth.

Thanks. That's a very pretty name. I guess that's some clever bit of foreshadowing there.

It looks fairly close to gold, but it does also sort of look like brass too, but not much

Brass and gold look an awful bit alike, so I'm not too bothered by that. Thanks for the honesty. Although I guess there's no reason why Midas can't have a Brassish Touch.
