. This is Gillarax, Father of All Gargoyles, which also makes him the dad of DU hero Professor Goyle. He's also Goyle's main foe. Yeah, daddy issues.

Yeah, daddy issues.Gillarax enters the DU shortly after the events of Omega Rising. A wave spread across the Earth, vanishing every 'Deviant' and transporting them into the future. During this time, Goyle opens a portal between Earth and Elusia, causing every monster in Elusia to be caught up in the wave. The wave also destroys Elusia, thus every Elusian monster ends up returning to the human world several months later. Gillarax is not happy with this development, believing for a long time that humans and monsters were not meant to live together. He's very angry and wants to punish who ever is responsible for destroying his home, which means finding out who ever started the wave. In the meantime, he is going to look for a new home for himself and his monsters, and he will defend any monster being attacked by humans.

I like the role reversal here - Goyle now the villain and Gillarax the good guy. It makes a lot of sense in the context of the story - Gillarax's motives were always good - to defend his people from a threat - whereas Goyle's logical scientific mind drew him into cold, calculating decisions. I wonder where Goyle stands now the Genocide Wave is gone?
