August Challenge Cover

For August challenge of the Summer Crossover. This month's crossover is Freedom Wars, and this month's challenge is chapter 3, "Rival Factions"

I am teaming up with . It's SaberCat vs. Animal Boy.

This serves as the cover/teaser. It's in a different style then my usual stuff. Practicing new techniques. I like how it turned out.

I think it's interesting that these two guys got paired up. Ever since I saw Animal Boy's profile in the DU, I had a secret desire to have the two of them battle it out some day. Now, it happens. There's a lot of similarities between the two characters. First of all, the colors. Second, they're both linked with animals. Third, they're both shape shifters. Fourth, they're both young, Benny's 10, Ben's 16. They're both thrust into a world they're barely prepared for. They both have to juggle fighting crime with going to school. And lastly, they practically have the same name.

There's also a ton of differences. For one, they're both on opposite ends of the registration debate. Now they're forced to battle each other.

So who will win? Can Animal Boy's multitude of forms out power SaberCat's one? Can SaberCat's strength and near invulnerability win the day? Will Animal Boy's training and skills overcome? Can SaberCat overcome Animal Boy's home field advantage? One of these guys will lose, and they might also end up losing something much more valuable than their dignity.
